About Tomoko Yamamoto
Tomoko Yamamoto is a native of Tokyo, Japan, who went to the U.S. in 1966. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Ph.D. degree in Biophysics. After Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, she went to Ithaca, New York to work as a postodoctoral associate there. She took up photography there using an Olympus M1 which her father gave her. Her photographs of the Cornell campus helped her switch to photography in 1989. About the same time she started taking voice lessons for the first time. Today she is preparing multimedia concerts in Vienna, Austria with songs by Franz Schubert and with photos she has taken to illustrate the texts of the songs she sings.
